I could just meet myself across realities. There was that twenty-three year old me that seemed to already be into you, which was a singularly bizarre realization to stumble into. Then there's Jon's mother, which for all I know, was the me here at twenty-three.

What do you think you'd talk to yourself about if you got the chance?

Knowing me? Categorically break down differences and determine if I or we can find a pattern to them that'd indicate how divergences occur, or to what if any extent they're significant. Don't threaten myself with a good mystery.

If we're talking an unknown number of people all named Lois Lane who're tied to Metropolis... Who knows? Interview each other and figure out if there's any reality where I didn't go into journalism. Hell, figure out if there's any reality where I was dumb enough to think working directly with the military would go well for me. Figure out if Superman shows up in all our cities, or if some of us have other singular leading heroes, or only groups like the Justice Gang, or if there are worlds where metahumans never became a burgeoning group of humanity and then some.

I don't think I'd be doing a lot of heart to hearts for the most part.

( Jon's mom, Lois Lane, would be one of them she would do. She doesn't say that in the group chat. Jon doesn't need to wonder what one Lois Lane would say to another who actually married and lived through carrying him for nine months, and raised him the next ten years. That's just... such an unfathomably dedicated period of time. )

The opposite. "How would you go about interviewing your future self?" At the time I thought it was an exercise in self-actualization or something. Turned out to be strangely prescient.

Feels like trying to come up with questions for the you the world hasn't seen yet would be worse. Plus unfair. If their memory was any good, they'd also know all the questions ahead of time.
